How to Get Out of a Funk
Sometimes, I get into a funk because I have this story that things aren’t happening fast enough in my life. Do you ever get that story?
Over the years, the duration of that funk has continued to decrease dramatically. Before, it would be a full out, month long depression (I’m talking: lock myself up in my room and not want to come out for weeks.) Then, it lessened to a couple days of feeling off. Now, it’s just a fleeting thought that I notice, offer gratitude to, and release back into the ethers from whence it came!
Always remember, the duration of the funk is all up to you. How long do you want to believe the story that anything other than perfection can happen in your life? Do you want your funk to last years, weeks, days, hours, minutes, or seconds?
